Rational Mysticism
To many this title might appear to be an oxymoron, but it is most definitely not an oxymoron. It contains a profound truth known to Kabalists and scientist alike. The mysticism of Kabala contains and underline rational structure. The reason of science contains and underline mystical structure. This was known to Maimonides, Einstein and The Alter Rebbe.
The Talmud tells us that "HaShem is Truth" . Truth requires the unification of revelation and reason. It is this unification that provides the guidance for our direction and purpose in any age.
The class will not be involved in the "technology" of science and theology. It will seek to help us to better define out role in the great adventure that is Judaism in the 21st century. There are no prerequisites for this class. Just come as you are.
