Guidelines

A basic Kiddush sponsorship is at the level of $175.00 which serves 40 people. At this level there are no additions to the usual menu which includes:

Two cholents, one vegetarian and one meat

Three salads, one fresh and two others

Gefilte fish

Rolls

One baked dessert and fresh fruit

Drinks, paper and plastic utensils, napkins and cleanup

Adding more people

If you are planning a larger event, please add $2.50 per person above the 40 regular participants. Keep in mind when planning your event to include in your count the 40 regular Shabbat service participants. They are the shul "family" and are automatically included in all Shabbat day festivities.

Food options

Below are some additional options for a Kiddush menu. Keep in mind that some of these may or may not be available for the specific week you want to sponsor Kiddush. It helps if we have about three weeks lead time to plan and shop for these items. Prices below are for 40 people.

Extra salads    $ 25.00 each                Kishka    $20.00                Kugel $20.00

Lunch meat    $70.00 minimum ( for 6 lbs. serves about 40) call for availability

Specialty breads (i.e. rye, four loaves) $20.00

Specialty pastries (i.e., rugalach, cookies, other baked items as available)    $50.00

Lox instead of gefilte fish  $90.00

Specialty cakes

Specialty cakes for your occasion may be ordered from Rinaldo's Bake Shop, 910 W. Fairview Ave., Dayton, OH, 274-1311 or from All Occasions Sweets (Rochel Simon), [email protected]. You will be responsible for ordering your cake and picking it up and delivering it to Chabad on Friday afternoon.

When ordering your cake, please specify that it will be for Shabbat and therefore they will need to make it with removable lettering if any lettering is included.

Use of specialty bowls and specialty setups

Specialty serving bowls and setups are available. Since these take more time to prepare and clean up, please add $40.00 to your planning to cover additional cleaning services. If your event has more than 40 people, cleaning prices will increase by an additional $10.00 for each additional ten people you are expecting.
