When a teenager is caught between conflicting loyalties and seeking to rise to the expectations set by these conflicting values, and when added to this mix there is strife and hypocrisy as parents also strive to live in two worlds at once and find they cannot, it is no wonder that a teenager rebels against this way of life that does not embody 'shalom bayit'.
While we reap what we have sown, let us sow today a new seed and ask forgiveness from our children and prepare the way for new days starting with this moment in time. A beautiful present also casts a better light on the past, which can not be changed.
